Happy Labor Day!

And it has been 1.5 months since my last review. Well, I tried to write a monthly review but life just does not stay the same and changes can come unexpectedly.

Overall the second half of July and whole August were neutral to good if I was to grade my mood.

Part 1: Emotion and lifestyle

For the recent 50 days, my emotions and lifestyle have been stable with small fluctuations. I could have good sleep at night, although sometimes wake up because it was too hot so I finally learned to turn on AC at a higher temperature to save electricity. Weather in California is really good and I do not have things to complain about.

I want to share some good news here. In the first place, I passed the written test of driver license in CA. This is my first time applying for a driver license ever in my life so I took it really seriously. I spent about 5 hours in local DMV and I knew the staff were working really hard to provide good service as fast as they could. Well, Zootopia is true.

Next is that I invited the cute photographer to come for a homemade lunch, who helped me take photos in my commencement ceremony. This is a proof that I have made progress in cooking skills.

(I did not overcook the chicken wings on purpose!)

Part 2 : Work and after-work studies

I have a new manager now, which means new pressure. Possibly I need to work harder and overtime. I plan to start after 8 am and stop sharply at 6 pm. It’s understandable that a recession is looming and I’m lucky to have a full-time job with an OK salary, considering the inflation in the US.

I will also continue with my Spanish study but this may be slower than I previously thought. But Spanish is still important. In the pas two weeks, I tried to improve my understanding using the Spanish subtitles of Good Omens, a TV series of Amazon Prime Video. This helps with communication in life but may not be efficient in exam preparation, like the double sides of a coin.

Part 3 : Adventures!

I finally had the chance to explore the northern side of San Francisco, by that I mean Golden Gate Park and Golden Gate Bridge!

It could be the best season to see those flowers at Conservatory of Flowers!

And the Golden Gate Bridge and the Fort Point under it!

I also love Palace of Fine Arts, which looks more classic.

Last but not the least, a lovely brunch that gave me energy for the whole day!

Thank you for reading and see you in October (hopefully)!
