Hello ~ Happy Presidents’ Day!

I really love these one-day holidays because I can get much more relaxation than a normal weekend.

Yesterday I went to visit Asian Art Museum and Chinatown in SF. The trip was tiring but super amazing!

Here is a small story between me and a super lovely German Shepherd on the Bart to Asian Art Museum. She was very adorable and smart and knew that I loved her very much!

We just met for 5 seconds but she showed the affection to me like we had been growing up together for ten years. She even tried to jump and sit on the seat next to me and put her paws on my legs. Everything was perfect except that I may need to wash my pants XD.

Asian Art Museum

The discovery of the diverse Asian cultures started from Floor 3.

But waaaaaaaait…before feasting your eyes with the real master pieces created by our ancestors. I created a piece myself on the first floor and modern technology made it move!

I felt like I made a contribution to the museum :)

Now let the tour begin!

Oracle Bones (sometimes also called Dragon Bones)!

The oracle bones bear the earliest known significant corpus of ancient Chinese writing, using an early form of Chinese characters. The inscriptions contain around 5,000 different characters (Qiu, 2000, Chinese writing (Wenzixue gaiyao). Transl. by Gilbert L. Mattos and Jerry Norman. ), though only about 1,200 of them have been identified with certainty (Wilkinson, Endymion, 2000, Chinese History: A Manual (2nd ed.)).

Other artifacts made of different materials.

Mountain scene carved on a bamboo root.

Lidded jar with a design of lotus pond, made of porcelain.

Ivory carving.

Buddha statues made of limestones, probably gilded with gold.

Painting on a fan; ink and colors on a gold-surfaced paper.

Next come the artifacts from Korea and Japan.

This was the end of the visit to Asian Art Museum SF.

The next stop was Chinatown in San Francisco, there was a street fair to celebrate Chinese New Year (although it had been three weeks later).

The Dragon Gate, a symbol of Chinatown.

Street food that reminded me of childhood.

Tibetan Dance.

Also you are very welcome for the full version of the background music XD

In the small public park, there were senior people performing live Cantonese opera. I did not understand what they were singing but it’s classical and traditional so I made a small donation.

For the rest of the day, I went to the Transamerica Pyramid and Ferry Building as they are just located nearby.

Transamerica Pyramid

I found the Ferry Departures Board very mechanic, which is very rare in the Digital Age.

And a twisted building, which seems like a residential complex.

Hmmm…I got confused.

This building made me think of a song called Twisted by INTERSECTION.

Ok then that is all from the day trip yesterday in San Francisco.

I hope you all have a great week!
